While not quite as complete as the four disc Rock'n'Roll Man issued the same year, Johnny Hallyday's Anthologie is, in its way, preferable as a set for those interested in Hallyday's French hits rather than his English ones. In fact, the only two songs in English here would have been unconscionable to leave out--&Rock'n'Roll Attitude,& and his cover of Billy Roberts' ubiquitous &Hey Joe.& What is here, included in this three disc, 46 song r career retrospective are the very best of his singles, soundtrack cuts and one-offs that created and sustained the legend throughout the 60s and 1970s.
