The second outing from M.O.D., this collection of metallic novelty tracks reinforced the group's status as perhaps the flimsiest metal joke band of their time. The cover of &Surfin' U.S.A.& is well executed and the polka-beat doo wop of &Color My World& also has its moments, but there isn't much else that will inspire a good laugh here. Frontman Billy Milano half-sings his way through this Megaforce EP, waxing ecstatic about the party life while his band churns out stop-and-go metal that is lightweight, but palatable. Fans of '80s East Coast metal best presented by Anthrax and other goofball metal groups like Ludichrist/Scatterbrain and Infectious Grooves might take a liking to this M.O.D. offering. It should be said, however, that the group never possessed the comic timing, intelligence, and especially the musical chops of these better-known acts. Fans of M.O.D. who haven't yet checked out Surfin' M.O.D. are encouraged to do so, as the boys are most in their element on this recording.
