This one begins benignly enough with Pablo flexing over some old Aggrovator rhythms. One wonders if a lot of these tracks aren't actually outtakes from another session. The wondering ends, however, about halfway through the session. From that point on, Pablo's in fine form, flexing, pushing and, most importantly, thinking out loud. Pablo had an improviser's mind as keen as any jazz soloist's. He demands your attention and engagement. It's still a one way street, more akin to a sermon than a debate. But it's okay. He's smarter than we. We could do worse than to shut up and listen now and then. As a bonus, Herman Chin Loy adds some tasty toasting.
