This album vaguely tips its hat to Christmas with the cover art and the first piece, "From the Light," which features synth choir and some bells. A nice expansion from his usual synth orchestra and piano, I thought. Although Rowland does seem to include a few more orchestral voices such as flutes and oboes, his themes are not as melodic and easy-tofollow as on his previous albums. The harmonies are slightly discordant, and Rowland's themes wander without the sophistication to make a full emotional statements.
