Shanice sure has an impressive voice, including the ability to sing falsetto a la Mariah Carey and Minnie Riperton. In fact, Shanice performs a version of Riperton's "Lovin You," which is somewhat faithful to the original. Fortunately, even though Shanice was just a teenager when she recorded this album, she doesn't overindulge in the falsetto like Carey did on her early releases. Unfortunately, she does overindulge in rapping, which is not her particular strength. Standout tracks include the hit "I Love Your Smile" and "Silent Prayer," featuring the great voice of Johnny Gill. A nice set produced by Narada Michael Walden.
