Kid Koala等合作的美国Underground Rap好手Blu Rum 13，Jazz Electronica名团Cinematic Orchestra成员John Ellis以及圈中好友DJ Woody共同组成。

以网罗了巴西裔骚灵女歌手Yarah Bravo，曾与TTC、Luke Vibert、坚强的合作关係为DJ Vadim过去所勾勒的Abstract Hip Hop/Underground Hip Hop创作麵向体现更多的人声导向可能性，揉合更多Dub、Soul、Grimestep、Jazz元素而被形容为「有如The Pop Group於2005年经典再现」。

史上最忙碌的俄罗斯籍DJ/製作人DJ Vadim在万眾瞩目之下推出新专辑。DJ Vadim (aka VadiDJ Vadimm Peare)本名Andrey Gurov，人称hip hop界的John Coltrane，1992年被Ninja Tune签下，1995年创立自己的厂牌Jazz Fudge。他不仅多产，除了DJ/製作人之外还身兼多样职务，合作过的对象更是不计其数，而且都大有来头。像是日本抽象hip hop大师DJ Krush、纽约underground hip hop名团Company Flow、来自费城的jazz hip hop巨星The Roots、LA的The Pharcyde与Dilated People、美国东岸hardcore/political rap沙场老将Public Enemy、由一群菲律宾裔的美国DJ组成的Beat Junkies等。他的才华不只在hip hop圈中受重视，包括drum n' bass名製作人Ed Rush、德国电子音乐先驱Kraftwerk、英国trip hop团Morcheeba、英国摇滚大团Super Furry Animal以及The Jam与The Style Council首脑Paul Weller等，都曾经合作过，可见DJ Vadim的才华洋溢。

除了以DJ Vadim的名字发行专辑之外，有时也会用本名或是艺名Little Aida发表作品。DJ Vadim在99年发行专辑USSR: Life from the Other Side不只卡司坚强 (Scratch Perverts、Blade、Dilated People的Iriscience等)。他还特别组了个团The Russian Percussions巡迴演出，阵容也是不能小看，包括Scratch Perverts的Mr. Thing (唱盘)、Killa Kela (beatbox)、Blue Rum 13 (MC)以及John Ellis (keyboard)。这个团总共巡迴了200场，足迹遍佈欧州各国与美国，真吓人。他同时也是西班牙一个hip hop团7 Notas 7 Colores的DJ/製作人，参加过一个许多艺术家组成的团队The Isolationist。2005-5006年间则忙著与老婆MC Yarah Bravo组的One Self，另一个团员是MC Blue Rum 13。One Self的首张专辑Children of Possibility在2005年9月发行。

这样的经历够丰富了吧，他会这么忙碌也不是没有原因的，他的取样技巧可是首屈一指的。他的音乐结合了hip hop与电子，还加入了许多元素，像是reggae/soul/R&B/disco/dub等，还有世界音乐。作品中有纯音乐的抽象hip hop，也有饶舌，所以他的作品可想而知的具有多样的面貌。在这张新专辑The Soundcatcher就可以见识到他的真功夫，距离上一张个人专辑USSR:The Art of Listening已经有5年的时间了。新专辑中，抽象hip hop的部份减少了，简单来说是以歌曲/饶舌为走向，跟以往的作品比起来较为商业，但却又不失个人风格。soul的部份相对增多，也让这张专辑更增添旋律性，在一些歌曲中加入了dub的delay技巧，让歌曲充满空间感。另外他还玩了当今英国相当走红的grime，专辑中有几首充满雷鬼味的歌曲，可见 reggae/dub/dancehall对他的影响之深。找来跨刀的MC也都是狠角色，有英国当红的Skinnyman、来自美国西岸的Abtract Rude等。听完之后发现，DJ Vadim还真不是省油的灯，个人对这张专辑的评价很高，每首歌的製作水準都非常的高，尤其把他擅长的取样发挥到淋漓尽致，每首歌的感觉也相当的到味。这张专辑肯定会成为今年音乐圈的一个大事件，真的有这么棒吗？有待听眾自己发觉吧！

The highlights of DJ Vadim's 2002 LP U.S.S.R.: The Art of Listening were the collaborations with rapper Yarah Bravo, whose style was one of the most original ever heard from a female rapper. (Even better, unlike most original-sounding female rappers, she didn't sound like she was grasping for a way to sound different from the men.) Three years later came word of the pair's collaboration in the trio One Self, whose album Children of Possibility arrived on Ninja Tune in September 2005. Along for the ride is male rapper Blu Rm 13, who disappointingly appears on more tracks, including a few where Bravo squeezes in a verse only after Blu Rm gets his. For Vadim, following a series of solo records, it's clear he relishes being only one member of a group; his productions here (plus work on bass and keys) are much more adventurous and challenging than previous records. Only a few elements comprise most tracks, but it's clear they've been chosen thoughtfully to create excellent material. True to form, the highlights of the record are two of the tracks featuring Bravo and not Blu Rm -- the stretching "Over Expose" (with a nice flute solo by Finn Peters) and the intensely groovy "Bluebird."
