World-renowned radio turntablist DJ Revolution is known for putting together solid mix tapes, but finally fans get to enjoy an album of his comprised of entirely original material. In 12's We Trust is the name of DJ Revolution's freshman attempt at producing a full album, and while it is obvious he is a competent DJ, his production skills have yet to reach his skills on the turntables. The album has mostly turntable-inspired tracks, but DJ Revolution includes a handful of songs featuring up and coming underground MCs. Hands down, the best cut on the album is &Evolution& featuring Evidence of the Dilated Peoples; the beats and the rhymes are on point. In the end, while the album does an excellent job of exposing turntablism as an art form to the masses, it only does an adequate job of elevating hip-hop production as a whole.
