Long on the pummeling beats and hypnotizing effects but just a bit short on actual ideas, State of Mind doesn't quite work in the confines of full-length headphone music. Pacou's production and drum programming is precise (especially on highlights like &Think Twice& and &Format #2&), but these tracks work best in a DJ set, not in a living room.
